Fuzileiros Museum

The room where the Fuzileiros Museum is located was built during the kingdom of D. Afonso V, used for many years for the cooking of hardtack, wheat storage, and landing pier. In it you can learn about our history (since 1621), see the weaponry, heraldry, military artwork and countless others artifacts regarding the Fuzileiros.

The Fuzileiros Museum is chronologically organized, beginning from the XV century (Hardtack ovens), to the XVII (Terço da Armada Real), to the XVIII (Brigada Real de Marinha – Royal Navy Brigade), to the XIX (Expeditionary Battalions), to the XX (recreation of the Fuzileiros and the Overseas War) all the way to the XXI century (New Missions).
