​The Fuzileiros are a pillar of the Portuguese Military Defense, both in the safeguarding of national independence and in the guaranty of international safety and stability.

Force Projection englobes a variety of capabilities, being that the Amphibious Landing Force is extremely versatile and organized per mission needs, having available different Fuzileiros Forces and an Amphibious Landing Light Battalion which allows for troop projection from the sea to land and the performance of amphibious operations.

• An amphibious operation is an operation performed from the sea, by an amphibious force.

What we do:

• ​Immediate readiness to protect and evacuate Portuguese citizens from regions in crisis, and to give humanitarian aid in the aftermath of natural catastrophes or regional unsteadiness.

• International missions in the ambit of Collective National Defense and Cooperation Safety, in accordance with national interests and dignification of the Portuguese flag.​
